LETTER
dear sis,
I am writing this to you for next semester, as you will be taking college writing I when you enter as a freshman. College writing does not sound fun and might seem a little scary going into it, but do not worry because you just have to make the time and split it up into tiny assignments. This class is a good way of open up your mind and see things for what they really are. During writing, you will learn to trust yourself with your writing. In high school you would just turn in whatever you had done, not even giving it a second look, but here you will hand in a paper that you put the dedication and effort in. Peer editing is a big thing in this class, so you can get a better understanding on what your peers and your audience you are writing to like and think of your paper, as well as being able to feel proud on what you hand in. I am excited for you coming next year. Have fun!
REFLECTION
When I first started this class, I saw what we had to do and I thought it was going to be a lot of work and miserable. I was not a fan of writing and I thought that what I wrote was not good, I did not like anyone reading it, except for the professor. Over this course I have learned and taken with me a lot. The projects we did in class were always interesting, especially since we were not forced, we got to pick what we wanted to write about. That is how you enjoy writing, when you feel passionate about it. Yes, I felt as this class was challenging at times, but when I stopped looking at it as a whole and split into tiny pieces, it did not seem intimidating anymore. As a high schooler your main purpose in writing class was to work on writing long papers, being able to meet a page length and give great details. The biggest challenge and my favorite project for me this year was the micro-theme because I was so use of being able to add and add, instead of being picky on what to include in a limited amount of space. This project taught me how to get my point across in an interesting and relatable way, without being pushy or stern to an audience. The micro-theme taught me how to communicate in both the real world and in the classroom. As I finish college writing I, I feel more confident and proud of what I write, along with sharing what I have to say to other people. I also have come more familiar and progressed with writing styles and basic rules.
