Purple the Color.
I was thinking about what to write and could not come up with anything. so I decided to write about my favorite color, purple. Purple is a pretty cool color, it has some interesting facts behind it. For example did you know that purple was the first artificial dye color to be created? It is when the primary colors of red and blue are mixed together, which then make the secondary color of purple is formed.

Back in history purple symbolized royalty and wealth, because members of the royal family would be the only ones to wear the color purple since it was so rare and expense to make. A lot of royal members still to this day use it as a ceremonial color.

Purple is used in a lot of propaganda for women's rights and feminist movements.

Encourages and sparks creativity. As well as calms the mind.

Purple is associated with the traits of:
- Vanity
- Extravagance
- Individualism
- Magical
- Spiritual
- Strength
- Physical & mental healing
- Pride

It also represents harmony of the universe( yin and yang) because of the equal combination of red and blue. 

SO WHY NOT LOVE THE COLOR PURPLE?

    Purple is a nice colour indeed! I had no idea that it was the first artificial dye to be created but thats an interesting fact. I've always liked the colour and it's always been my mums favourite colour. Is it a coincidence that its a combination of my two favourite colours blue and red? I think not!

Why I swim?

I started swimming around 11 years ago. One summer I decided to join a local YMCA swim team and fell in love with the how accepting the team was and the competition, with the fact that swimming is considered a team sport, but at the same time can compete individually. Going swimming was my favorite part of my day. I loved everything about it, the way it made me feel when I would exercise, on how it would get rid of the stress that was inside, it would just disappear. The Hunting Ground

Watching the documentary, The Hunting Ground, the scene that affected me the most was when a female student from St Mary, Notre Dame University, was being interviewed and was asked to share her tragic experience. She went in detail on how she was a freshman as the time, it was just her first week living on campus. She was the type of girl to stay in on the weekends and that kept to herself. A group of her friends decided to go to a party and drink, but then she got a text from a group of friends that there was party at this student’s house and to come. She decided to go thinking there would be lots of people there, but when she got there if was just her and a couple of guys, that were the roommates.
